Jeff Mangum & Talib Kweli at Occupy Wall Street

Occupy Wall Street is an ongoing series of demonstrations in New York City based in Zuccotti Park, formerly "Liberty Plaza Park" protesting against social and economic inequality, corporate greed, and the influence of corporate money and lobbyists on government, among other concerns. The protest's organizers hope that the protesters themselves will formulate their own specific demands, expecting them to be focused on taking to task the people who perpetrated the economic meltdown.

Mark Welsbrot of the Guardian Online had this to say: "We are now more than one third of the way through a "lost-decade", having barely caught up with our income at the end of 2007, when the recession began. Thank God there are people in the streets who understand that there is nothing inevitable about this misery. It is their strength and organisation that is currently our best hope for a better future." Celebrities including Susan Sarandon, Michael Moore, Lupe Fiasco, Radiohead and Rosanne Barr have made appearances at the protest in support. Below you can watch performances by Jeff Mangum of Neutral Milk Hotel and Talib Kweli in amongst the gathered crowds:
