Roxx Club

Roxx is a 'backstage experience' pop-up club and events organisation currently residing at number 4 Winsley Street in the heart of central London. With a heap of positive press, including GQ declaring it their favorite pop-up of the year, and visits from Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, it's already caused a buzz. The intimate space sees an eclectic, friendly & fun crowd gather every weekend for live bands and DJs playing a mixture of indie, rock and alternative from across the decades mixed with cool dance/house music.

Did anyone else used to frequent the indie clubs in Central London around the time of Panic/Afterskool/Frog/Moonlighting? Well, think of Roxx as a slightly more grown-up version in terms of presentation. The drinks aren't going to break your bank (although it's a far cry from Moonlighting's £1.50 spirit mixers back in the day - oh nostalgia) and the service and staff are both exceptional, whether you have a table or you're just hanging out at the bar, plus it's free entry before 10:30pm. I DJ'd there on the 29th of November and took some photos which you can check out below.

Ignition (Remix) - R. Kelly (Erol Sabadosh Remix)

Check out this remix of R. Kelly's Ignition (The Remix) which I did, you can stream it on YouTube and download it for FREE on Soundcloud:

"Coming away with a slight Tiga comparison in overall delivery, Erol Sabadosh’s raw and bubbly remix of R. Kelly’s ‘Ignition’ looks set to wag tails and shake toe-tapping feet." - Aerial Noise

"For his remix, Sabadosh gives the R Kelly classic a tropical house makeover with distorted steel drums and a hard dance beat." - Surviving The Golden Age

Ping Launch Party

Last night saw the official launch party of the new concept venue in Earl's Court from Alex Potter, Fraser Shipsides, Johnny Boud and Stevie Thomas. Ping pong, pizza and cocktails come together in a grand space mixing boho chic with underground cool. The pizzas are hand made, delicious and surprisingly competitive in price. £7 will get you a pizza or a cocktail and the choices are varied and unique. We love it and are already looking forward to going back! The license is until 2am so we expect some kicking parties coming up too.

Mashina O

Check out my brand new original track titled Mashina O which is available for free streaming and download on Soundcloud...

Inspired by Laibach’s B Mashina, Mashina O is an ode to the ground-breaking Omladinski Program Radio Sarajevo (1987 – 1992). Turning communism on its head by promoting alternative lifestyle values as well as music, subsequently becoming among the strongest movement for peace when Yugoslavia collapsed, I'm helping celebrate its 25th anniversary and legacy by DJing in-store at Rough Trade East in London on the 15th of this month.

The First To Know Gathering @ Rough Trade East (www.roughtrade.com), 15 May, 7pm. Q&A with 'Hoxtonite' trend-setter author Lida Hujic (www.thefirsttoknow.info), win original collector items from the Sarajevo Olympics 1984 and a live DJ set from Erol Sabadosh with a very special playlist. The Men Who Fell To Earth

Some of my friends run a great club night called TheMenWhoFellToEarth, which has been taking place at East Bloc in Shoreditch on the first Saturday of each month. Last Saturday I DJ'd there for the third time and I had such a great time I wanted to recommend it and share the love. Despite the snow coming down and transport generally failing across London a great crowd braved the weather conditions and turned up for a riotous good time! Check out some photos of me on the decks and clubbers dancing to my set:

Wyld Wednesday End of Year Party

Last night was the final Wyld Wednesday installment of the year, with guest DJ Kris Di Angelis (Southern Fried Records) joining myself, Miguel Dare and Sean Alto on the decks. A big thanks to everyone that came down and made the night such a blast, we'll be taking a short break in the beginning of January and then returning with a big relaunch on the 25th of January which some very special events lined up in the new year, so watch this space!

Here are some photos I took last night:

PPQ Christmas Party at Rose Club

Last week British label PPQ threw their Christmas party at the Rose Club in London and I went along to see my dear friend Amy Molyneaux, one half of the design house along with the inimitable Percy Parky. I love Amy forever, she's always been a star helping me out with my career and generally being a wonderful friend and I'm super proud of her always. Here are some photos from the night, including a pic of us together:

The Rose Club

Last night I was invited to check out the new venue from Nick House, called The Rose Club, (known shortly as The Black Cat during a series of soft launch parties before its renovation and official opening this week) and I must say it certainly was fun! DJ Kayper kept the crowds jumping and we enjoyed some Ciroq vodka and Champagne cocktails with the club's creative director Andrew Dax. Ballerinas performed synchronised routines to Runaway by Kanye West, special drinks were brought out in oversized novelty Monopoly game pieces (see us drinking from a silver top hat below) and the infinity mirrors, state-of-the-art lighting and Funktion 1 sound system induced a near-epileptic state of frenzy in the already lively crowd. Suffice to say we're feeling a little fragile today. Not one for the faint-hearted but definitely a great place to go if you want to party hard in the West End and you have the cash to splash on a table (otherwise you may feel a little awkward as the whole space is made up of booths and there is little designated dance floor to speak to of). You can check out their official website if you click HERE and apply for membership.

Wyld Wednesday 30/11/11 with Kim Ann Foxman

Last night we had the amazing Kim Ann Foxman of Hercules & Love Affair take to the decks at Wyld at the W London for our weekly Wednesday party. As always she played a deep, grooving set that went down a treat. Thanks Kim! Here are a few photos I took in between dancing and DJing myself:
